GUIDELINES

 

  1. Contest is opened to contestants in all counties.
  2. Queens must be available to ride in Tomato Festival Parade on Saturday morning,

July 4th.

  1. Each contestant must be in the correct age category as of July 4, 2009.
  2. Interviews for contestants will begin the afternoon of the pageant. Interviews should not last more than 5 minutes for each contestant. Interviews will be worth up to 30 points. The interviews will be conducted in classrooms at Avery Elementary next to the cafetorium. All contestants must be on time for afternoon interviews and on time for pageant. Organizers will get in touch with each contestant, at the phone number listed on the application, to tell them the time of their interview. Interviews will start around 1:00 pm on the afternoon of the pageant.
  3. All application should be turned in to City Hall no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2009.
  4. Dress for interview will be casual. Dress for pageant will be “Sunday Dress”. No formals or “pageant dresses”, please.
  5. Please attach a small photo of contestant to application; does not have to be a “formal picture”.
  6. The pageant will actually start at 6:00 pm on Friday, July 3rd in the cafetorium of Avery ISD.
